Report
For December we had very good weather (again), dry and not too cold. The course was in good condition with most greens in great nick for this time of year, but with two or three alterations to the normal layout to avoid remedial work on the course. Captain Croxford invited the Laleham Captain, Alan Burrows, (ex-BA Golf Capt) to join his group , Alan has been a big supporter of our golf section over the years. The usual condidates had their Christmas golf gear on show, with Chris Walker in his normal full Santa outfit.
The 18 holes competition was played using the stableford scoring system off seven/eights handicap. 42 golfers took part (including 4 guests) with scoring not as high as might have been anticipated in the conditions. Two newer members were the best on the day, Surinder Kalsi won with 36 points followed by Adrian Meredith on 34.
The Laleham club laid on a good, full breakfast and a very good evening cavery meal, with the usual Christmas fayre. There were so many prizes to go round this year that every member, the guests and even the bar staff ended up with something.
