Seaford / Hill Barn Results

The winner of the two day combined event was Joe Tiwana.

The results are on the website, Photos now added.

The annual 'away day' meet at Seaford GC on the South Coast resulted in 32 members enjoying great views along the coast over the cliffs and out to sea, accompanied by sunshine and strong cold north winds. The dry firm conditions, and swift greens, were a welcome change for most of us from the muddy courses at home. These difficult conditions were reflected in the 1st days results. However an excellent 5 course dinner and time in the bar afterwards allowed time for the results to mellow.

Surprisingly all members made the short trip along the coast to Hill Barn GC without losing anyone, and another hill top course presented itself. Similar conditions, but without the winds, allowed for better golf from nearly everyone, and reversal of fortunes for many. This resulted in a very tight set of results for both the days' winner and the overall winners.

Congratulations to all of the winners, and also many thanks to the organisers, both before and during the weekend.

Royal Ascot results

Well this was our last day meeting for 2023 and we were back to Royal Ascot for our Christmas event, after last year playing on a frozen course this year it was a wet course.

After numerous communications with the golf club Malcolm managed to arrange that we play 18 holes even though only 14 were playable, with the score card looking more like a lottery ticket than golf card, hole numbers all over the place, but the majority of the players managed to work it out, but there is always the exception with the Clark's and Lowe managing to not play the 18th hole even though they walked down it!!

The winner with a great score of 44 points was Lincoln Dowe, second place was Nigel Weldon with 42 points and third place was Malcolm Coleman with 41 points.

Well done to Malcolm for arranging a great day, many thanks from all the players.

Merry Christmas to all of you and happy golfing in 2024.
